skunk2 IM question
i havre a cold air intake and stock TB with a skunk2 manifold, and everytime i accelerate i hear a whistling noise coming from the intake filter i was just wondering if that is normal with this manifold. i have a 94 ls with H/I/E/IM
yes, this is normal. my aem cai on my old ef used to whistle pretty loud, i've heard of many people experiencing the same thing on their eg's and dc's as well.
cool thanks because all my friend were like dman wtf is that noise you must have an air leak or some shiet, but i told him its my supercharger lol but thanks for the info i will sleep better now
SGT told me that with the Skunk 2 mani having a 64mm port and the t/b being 60mm, 62 if you have an ITR t/b causes the whistle. The cure would be a 64mm t/b, but I would assume that there would always be some whistling.

the gasket might be the cause also

Its not the mani, its the TB. When its partially open, the air moving past it is just at the right speed for the opening size to whistle. Its always done it, but without the CAI you'll never hear it. Changing the mani probably won't get rid of it, unless it radically changes how the air flows through the TB.

Because??? The ITR mani. port is 64mm, t/b is 62. Ths GSR mani. port is 62, the t/b is 60mm. This causes what???? You guessed it, the famous whistle. As I eluded to earlier, port match the t/b to the mani. and most of it will go away. I like the whistle myself.

my friend had a 97 LS with front mount intake, h/e/cg/pllys . It whistled a bit and sounded NiCe. when he got the Skunk2 IM and kept stock TB the whistle was even more pronounced and sounded even NiCeR. i guess my whole point is I LIKE THAT DAMN whistle hehe

I had a stock GSR TB on the skunk manifold with a short ram intake, so the whistle used to be really loud. I portmatched the TB to the skunk manifold and put back OEM intake and the whistle completely disappeared.

Some filters whistle also, K&N's are notorious for whisteling. I have a Skunk2 Manifold and a BBK 70mm throttle body on my CRV, but there parts made for a Integra LS, and it whistled for like the first 25 miles i drove it, then stopped whisteling, why I do'nt know, but i think its common.
