i have a skunk2 test pipe on my car and it is throwing a check light would that effect the pull on my vtec or no

 

1st off you probably shouldn't vtec with a check engine light on, 2nd why not see why the lights on, look in the FAQs and the 1st link will show you how.

 

If your car is obd2 (1996 or newer), its most likely throwing a PO420 code for catalyst insufficiency. The o2 sensors are not seeing a change between the front sensor and the rear sensor since there is no converter anymore. This wont effect anything, but it wouldnt hurt to make sure that thats the code before you go beat on it.

ur probly getting a cel because ur secondary o2 isn't plugged in anymore. It shoudn't hurt much, ur air/fuel might be a little off, but it's probly just ganna be a slight annoyance with the CEL on all the time till u get it fixed.
