Default Side Molding Removal...

I was just wondering how they're attached to the body exactly? Do they have clips, or are there bolts that hold the side molding in place.

I've never taken them off, and just checking to see if some of you know how they're attached, and the proper way to remove them without breaking some ish. Where would you start when taking them off. I'm an idiot.

I'm pretty sure they are attached by clips....just a guess, I ahve never heard of anyone taking them off.

**BTW: why are you trying to take them off???**

if you take them off you will have to repaint your door, and side back panel... you can pull em off easly, only problem is choose weather you want to fill it with bondo, or weld the holes closed whch will be more expensive, i bondo'd mine its been 2 years and still no cracks, and to the other guy wondering why you would take, i guess its another "type r" modd (cosmetic wise). Type r's come with no side moldings.

It brings out the body line and gives a cleaner look. It'll almost look like a type R if he decides to add a type R front lip.

What about getting them taken off to get them painted? I assume they will go back on ok?

This is exactly what I am doing in about 2 months. I am removing them to have the painted silver to match my car. My roommates Uncle owns a body repair shop and all I have to do is get them off and pay for the paint and clear. Shouldn't be more than $100 Cdn.

Anyone know what the product # of the clips are?? In case I break some, I may go to the dealer and buy some first

I already have an OEM lip. I'm wingless though so the back wing is something I don't have. Maybe when I get a JDM front I'll get that wing. It looks great with that front end.
