Should I replace my Field SFC/VTEC controller?
All,
My (hardwired) Field SFC/VTEC controller is still acting wierd and I'm wondering
if going to the Apexi would clear up some problems. The main issue is
that I still have the intermittent no power/no fuel issue. Changing the
mode on the Field once or twice temporarily clears up the problem.
It would definitely be worth it to me to get a VAFC if it would work
well consistantly. I guess the other option would be a OBDI conversion
and a Hondata. How much would that run me and which stage would I need
for NA tuning?
Thanks,

Thanks,
what about the integralink? its for the obd2 vtec. dont know how much they are though. but it seems like more tuning possiblity than a vafc.
Do you have any more info on it? This is the only thing I could find on it (http://www.tuningconcept.com/html/if_56_p2.html) and the website listened doesn't work. How is it tuned? With software and a laptop interface?
Thanks much.
Thanks much.
sorry i dont know much about the integralink i would like to know more about it myself. i have only seen the ads for it in the magazines. i have a friend with the apex'i power fc and he loves it. its 1300. but by the time you buy a obd1 ecu (300) and jumper harness(250) and a program for the new ecu (250) and a vafc (300) you might as well get the power fc or something similar. i dont know how much hondata is though but i hear its good...though dont you have to buy a jumper harness for it? i think zdyne also has some programable ecu's not sure though?
Yeah, Hondata and Zdyne both require the OBD1 conversion which it would obviously be cheaper to avoid. One interetsing thing I saw as that if I was to buy the Hondata stage 2 anyone with a stage 4 set up could tune it, possibly saving a few bucks. I could also just get the obd1 conversion and a copy of a program from a friend with a similar set up for the mean time, with an eye towards going Hondata in the future. That leaves me with the crappy Field problems, though
So, anything other than a VAFC is going to cost me well over 1k... possibly approaching 2k. Seems like the VAFC is worth a try for that kind of savings.
