Default short throw

Hey i'm looking into getting a short throw shifter on my gs-r. Just wondering if there's much of a difference in what brand I get, or is a metal rod a metal rod and I can get a $10 ebay one? It sounds like it's pretty easy to install--correct me if I'm wrong there, but basically do you think it's worth it to buy a more expensive one or no?

for the life of me, i can't understand why anyone would shift so hard that they break their shifter. idiots...
anyway, try http://www.meganracing.com. their shifter is only 25 bucks, and you get a good name brand instead of something questionable off ebay. ive always been very happy with their stuff.

quiet, you. they're a quality, reputable brand at an inexpensive price as opposed to other "brands" found on ebay.

get a steel shifter [ as opposed to aluminum ] and shift knowing that you won't have to worry about breaking the damned thing. i'd recommend getting one w/ sealed bearings.

install is pretty easy. its easier if you drop the b.pipe then do the install. also, replace your shifter bushings since you're going to have everything apart.

I know a great deal of people who get a short throw end up miss shifting a lot. I do it in mine as well. I also had to modify my exhaust shield under the shifter because it kept hitting it and wouldnt go into 2nd or 4th. BTW I got a DC Short throw.

well you want a short shifter, dont get a ebay one.. i have one on my car (bought it with it) and it just got replaced with a skunk2 duel bend short shifter with the polyurthane bushing i love this short shifter! it feels alot better than the dc sports one and the cheap ebay one also i like it better than the neuspeed one so if i were you save up a few more pennies and get the skunk2 and make sure you buy the polyurthane shifter bushings too its sooo freakin smooth (also get the skunk2 shift **** its weighted and sooo nice!) hope that changes your mind of the ebay one it feels soo nasty (and your exhaust pipe hits the short shiter due to lazy design)

awhile back in the performance forum there was a skunk 2 package available. Short shifter, bushings and **** all by skunk 2. Can't find the pm or the link anymore, but i'm sure it is still around. Do a search!

If I were to buy a skunk2 shifter would the bushing come with it, or would I have to buy that separately?
