Default shifting is hard

i have a 94 integra with about 85k on it. the clutch has never been replaced. anyway, after taking a long trip, i noticed that shifting got noticably harder. even putting the car in first was difficult. sometimes i would grind also. this happened with every gear, 1-5.
i'm guessing my clutch is going or my sychros are messed. i was going change the tranny fluid hoping that would solve the problem but i haven't had any time. i drove the car like this for about 1.5 months.
on the way home today, i stalled with the clutch fully depressed! i started the car again and my tranny shift's like butter now! wtf?? what's going on? also, sometimes at a stoplight, my car locks me out of any gear! if i shut off the car and turn in on again, everything's fine. any suggestions? i hope i'll just have to change the fluid. TIA

i get all those problems too except for grinding 1-5. i haven't changed the tranny fluid either, i'm sure it's just the tranny fluid.

where do you live?

Is your clutch engaging pretty far out? If your clutch is ok then I suggest a tranny service.

All gears grinding suddenly would point towards a clutch problem, not synchros.
I had the same symptoms, plus sometimes the clutch would shudder when engaging. A metal bracket on the clutch disc broke off and was spinning inside and causing me problems.

You should check the basics regardless though since they could be the problem as well... tranny fluid, leaking slave/master cylinder, bent linkage, etc.

I am having really similar problems with my 95 Gsr. I have problems with all gears, and there is a shuddering under slow clutch engagement. However, from a standstill there is no problem going into first. In fact, the higher my revs, the harder it is to shift into gear. I have gotten in the habit of letting my revs die down before I put it into gear When I did not let the revs die during shifting, there was a metal-to-metal grind going to third from second, and going from fourth to fifth there was a rubbery "bumping" WTF! I just had my fluid changed last year (25K ago). So, perhaps it is time for a change, but the MTF should not produce the symptoms I am dealing with.
