Shift Knobs - Personal Preference or Design Important?
I'm looking into what shift **** to get, and it seems that many are plain while some are ergonomic. I was wondering if the design of the **** makes a difference or if it is all about looks? For example, Momo versus ITR ****? And for that matter, let me put a little chaser on here and ask what the highest quality short shifter is?

There is a difference.
Different shapes allow for different grips. (Some shiftknobs like the ITR one allows you to grip it from the top and hold it with your fingers. This way you can shift with your wrist.)
Size should be considered too. Afterall, you want the **** thats the best fit to your hand.
Weight of the **** also makes a difference. For example, the heavier the shift ****, the easier/smoother the shifts will be. The throws will be lighter.
looks: this is all you.
hmmmm...may be I think I've taken the shift-****-choosing to far.
Just get what you feel comfortable with.

Neuspeed make a terrific short throw shifter. As far as the **** goes, it's whatever feels the best. I personally like the way my stock one feels.
Weight and the amount of stress on my carpel tunnel nerve have influenced my decision to get a B&M Pro shifter and a SKUNK2 ****... since I can't afford a C's shifter.
Another thing to think about is how the **** actually mounts. Some like Spoon, Skunk2, ITR will thread on like your OEM ****. I have a MOMO super anatomic that mounts via three small set screws along the bottom collar of the ****. While I can't complain too much since I got this **** for free and it feels much better than the stock OEM, it does have a tendency to loosen up every once and a while. Do a search on short shifters, the C's is arguably the best out there.
Personally, i like a thick stubby **** for grip. I like the **** on my friend's S4... Wondering if he'd notice if a Integra **** appears in his car one day
