Shift knob question???
I got a 97 teg ls and i got an aftermarket shiftknob that i just put in myself. After the 3rd day it got loose again so i tightened the screws and it was okay again. 4 days later it got loose again! Can someone give me advice on how to make it stay without getting lose every other day? It has three screws that go onto the bottom where its tightened with a right angel screw driver. Thanks again people
Do you have a short shifter? Some short shifters are made with softer metal than stock and then the screws can't stick.
Also, are the screws themselves coming loose or is the **** itself getting loose and you have to keep drilling the screws in further?

try locktite on the screws and I know this sounds ghetto but you might wanna try putting some duct tape to where the screws contact the shifter... did that on my friends and his shift **** is very secure... he bought some POS generic shift **** that kept getting loose... just make sure you put it so that you can't see the tape from under the ****.. otherwise it looks hella ghetto...
if you use locktite, how will you take the shifter off? My shifter comes loose sometimes but i torqued it pretty good the last time it happened and its on pretty good right now. I'll probably just get the screw on version(type r shift ****). I have the dc short shifter and the screws don't stick on properly to it.
Loctite holds the screws in place, but you will be able to break it when you need to take it off. As long as you dont get the strongest formula, which is for permanent fixes.
