Default In search of shocks...

What are some good inexpensive replacement shocks for my '99 Integra? My car is lowered 1.5" and I am only using the car for daily driving. I dont really care about adjustability or any of that fancy stuff, just a soft firm ride that will last.

Any reccomendations?

Also, where's a good shop in the Los Angeles/Orange County area for shock installation?

everyone will throw in there opinion including me,I have KYB's AGX.
Just do alot of asking around, you can get alot of good advice here. Also tell us what type or spring rates you have and what type of springs that would help also.
As for installations..I would reccomend Dynamic Autosports 949 457 1234 they are located in Lake forest

Well i have the tokico illumnas, and i love 'em, but tonight i got a little careless, my back was on four, and my front on 2, i hadn't adjusted the back since i changed the front, and the rear was much stiffer than the front, in turn when i pushed my car too hard into a left hander the back came around, causing a 720 in the middle of the road, but i did manage to keep it on the pavement. It was handeling like a dream tonight with that new setup (i used to have it on 3front 4 rear) but the tad bit of understeer was so fun. I just wasn't used to the change enough, but i did manage to absolutely leave a GSX and a hopped up Civic

If you're looking for performance shocks, which you said you aren't, I would definitely go with Koni Yellows. The damper is adjustable, the height is as well and they have a lifetime guarantee. The best bang for your buck shocks are KYB AGX's and everyone has said good things about them. Lastly, Tokico Blues tend to be a soft shock, but are fairly cheap or you might want to look at Koni Reds. *Uhum.....or Yellows.....

The Koni Yellows are definitely a good suggestion, but are anything but inexpensive. For a cheaper, yet sufficient, alternative I would suggest the either the Bilsteins Heavy Duty gas shocks, or the KYB AGX's. Also, you could look into a set of Koni Reds, which are non-adjustable and still carry the Koni name and quality.

Thanks for the replies.

I decided to get myself some used Koni Sports(Yellows). I had these a while back, but had to sell them before I had a chance to install them. This time, they're going in.

Also, how much does it normally cost for a shop to install shocks? I might be taking it down to Dynamic. Any other shops? gokooljapan? Wanna install them for me? heh
