Default Safe Overbore?

How much is safe to overbore a b18? Is .25 ok? still reliable and strong?

Per the helms .020 is the limit, or 20 over. That is the normal honing when rebuilding.

I have mine B18B overbored 0.5mm.

I have mine B18B overbored 0.5mm.

.5mm is .020 over

.020 is in INCHES it equates to about .508 MM.

you can go .030 over even.... but its not recommended because if your block gets damaged you cant bore it over much more.

if you plan to run forced indcuction, its not good to run .030 because the cylinder walls become to thin and you cant boost a lot.
