is this safe to do... ?
My friend is telling me a cheap way to evac my A/C system (get the air out) and recharge it (cause one of my lines is leaking and I plan to replace it and evac + recharge) is to just "jump the wires on the compressor" and he said it's a quick way to get the air out without having to pay a shop (takes, 1, 2, 3 he said)........
Is this a viable method/safe way of evacing the system of air in the lines?

I think hes saying to get all the air out of there you have to use the compressor to pump it out.. Makes sense but i know nothing about A/C systems so correct me if im wrong..
It might not be so safe because the compressor depends on the refrigerant to lubricate it I believe so you're basically running it dry.. Just a theory..
