Default Running Lean Question

My CEL says I'm running lean (bank 1) yeah I know chances are it might be my O2 sensor...but what I want to know is what PSI I should set my fuel pressure to to be more safe? I have had this code for about 1-2 months and I just checked my cyclinder compression today and it's about 180 on all 4, which doesn't have me scared...but the plugs are still a little white..I adjusted my fuel pressure today to about 40 psi..so it can run a little more rich..and now my plugs appear to be black more than normal anyways..which is alot better than them being white, but is 40 psi safe to run? or what should I set my psi. to run a little more rich so my engine doesn't detonate from running to lean..thanks for any advise you can give! Also, I would dyno it, but just don't have time and this is my daily driver.
