you could if you want to waist your time with a gas milege motor the base model rsx especialy auto are really tuned down and for gas milege your better off swappy a type-s motor and tranny or even a 2.4 TSX motor

i think you can get the base RSX in automatic.
they come with the k20a3 and they make 160hp and 130torque.
this is the same motor found in the 01-05 civic si.
SLOW!!!!!!

I own a base RSX as the Dd in my house. Its got a bit of torque...suspension is responsive and comfortable for daily use... Get those POS michelins off the rims though...so loud. The auto/Tiptronic tranny is entertaining while being extremely convienent for a DD.

Other then DD for a commuter car, I would choose something else.

hell, I wouldn't even bother with the RSX...MAC struts < anything else... Thats all there good for is comfort. And why they place the steering rack so high is beyond me...

Why spend thousands swapping in another motor and keep it automatic, which i'm sure would be a chore in itself.
All that money and it'll still be slow.

Chit...I've even thought about swapping in a k20a2...Its a goot idea, man.

Auto tranny is a five speed and gearing isn't that bad...matter of fact, in its current, stock trim, its pretty quick considering what it is...

I like my warranty though...
