In the mornings my gsr has been having trouble starting. It turns over like 25 times before it starts, it stutter starts a couple times before it will final stay running. Also, a couple times it has started and then it will shut off on its own after a few seconds. It has new plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor, fuel filter and battery but it still does it. Any ideas what else it could be?

 

have you checked ignition timing? My gsr has a little trouble when its cold. I turn the key to on and let the fuel pump prime all the way and it usually fires right up.

 

Oh and it cranks a lot slower then normal in the mornings as well. Maybe its just the colder weather? But none of the other cars i own/have owned have done this though. It has been around 25 F in the morning lately.

 

How does this car idle?

K i'll try doing that from now on. I just don't understand why it sometimes shuts off after it has started though.. Whenever that has happened, it will start right back up like normal.

 

It's def. the colder weather causing the slower cranking. it still shouldn't take that long for your car to start.

 

Idle is perfect.

 

Do you guys think they will take the battery back because of this? I know there is a 5 year warranty on it and its probably a year old. Maybe if i exchangeed it for an optima battery or something it would work better..
