Default rough idle

First off I did use the search button and came up with nothing that helped,

i have a 93 Intergra LS that broke the timing belt but luckily didn't do any damage ( that was visible) I ckecked the head and pistons and there was no signs of physical contact, I replaced the timing belt, water pump and head gasket, put it all back together and my distributor was bad, bought a new one and now is runs....kinda.

My problem is at idle its runnig rough but once you give it a little gas it runs fine, now the interesting part, at idle I can pull the spark plug wire on 1-2-3 and it idles worse which means those cylinders are "working" but when I pull the #4 plug wire (closest to the dizzy) it doesn't change anything. I am getting spark, fuel and air which should make it run, I thought maybe there was a bent valve but it runs smooth when given a little gas.

Any ideas on what might help me out would be greatly appriciated

Also there is no CEL

it seems to me like you are not getting spark to #4 where did you buy a dizzy from?

I pulled the spark plug out and started the car (that was loud) and put it back in the plug wire and grounded it out to one of the valve cover nuts and it was sparking. I bought the dizzy off of ebay from "distributor king"

what about the gap on the spark plug?? its supposed to be about .004 check that and that could be why you are not getting spark into #4

have you done a compression or leakdown check on the motor just to make sure your getting the same results from all the cylinders.

a leakdown test is going to be your best bet. to see if the cylinders are holding pressure.
