Reliable 350-400hp built motor
Hello all, new to the honda platform. Buying an ef hatch tmrw and plan on buying a b18b1 block and a gsr head to build on the side to eventually swap into the hatch. I’ve done a bit of research but I figured making a post would be helpful. I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg but I will be starting with a bare block so I will be ordering new/marketplace (not stock) internals for it over time. and go for a turbo setup. Can this be done reliably shooting for those numbers? If so what would be needed? I may end up asking a bunch of other questions in your guys’s response just bare with me I’m trying to do this for the first time and I’m excited to learn everything this has to offer.

Yes you can make those numbers on a unsleeved block with a good piston and rod combo, I have seen stock blocks making that power, but how long will it last is the real question. If you wanna have extra insurance I would advise having the block installed with a CSS support, just look it up, with the CSS you can make safley up to 600 WHP with a good simple piston and rod combo and its less than getting sleaves done. Add a good Turbo kit and get tuned.
Just have the machine shop send the block get CSS installed then have them assemble the engine.
