Rattling Noise From 1st Gear to 2nd
When I drive my car normally from 1st to 2nd gear I hear like a metal rattling noise. Its not loud or anything but it bothers me when I hear it. It only happens from 1st to 2nd. From 3rd-5th is perfectly fine. Anybody know what seems to be my problem? How I fix it also?

Eh I'm new at this but where is the heatshield located? On my headers? What do I do with it also? I'm new at this

i have the rattle from 3-4k rpm. people tell me its heatshield rattle. well, after taking off heatshields... still there... people now tell me 94-95 model you need new header if its making that sound or just fix the header by welding. it doesnt seem like you have my problem though cause i get the sound in all gears

No I have the same problem as you except I get it at 1-3 RPM. Also it only happens from 1st gear to 2nd. The rest are ok, but I don't know about getting new headers. How much does it cost to wield it?

it's probably your cat heatshield. have someone put a couple of tack welds (like little drops) to join the two shields together on the sides.

There's a bunch of thin heatshields around the exhaust, back to the rear axle. Any of them can be loose or rusty, so they buzz at certain rpms. A couple are bolted around the cat, some bolted around the B-pipe, and a couple are bolted to the underside of the floorpan. Crawl under there & check that out first... rap on stuff with your hand or with a rubber mallet to find the loose parts.
The A-pipe is the one from the manifold, going under the oilpan, to the cat. It's made of double-wall pipe, like a pipe-inside-a-pipe. The inner one can buzz against the outer one, and it sounds like a loose heatshield.
That pipe is expensive, so when mine started buzzing I bought a DC 4-2-1 header instead.
