RARE....HKS Headers for B Series
I just picked up these rare headers 4 to 1 design SS from my friend's shop Dynamics Autosport in California.
They have had these headers for over 10 years as there were over $1k back then and can only get in Japan.
There has been a lot of engineering made to this header and I was wondering if anyone knew any power gains on these headers over the DC 4 to 1 headers I currently have.
2.0L Built / Type R head / Toda B cams
Was going to get the Bisimoto but then stumbled on these bad boys!
HERE ARE SOME PICTURES

Re: RARE....HKS Headers for B Series
My boy was saying 10hp over my DC....I hope for more since I was going to get Bisimotto which are rated about 10-15hp over my DC but I couldn't resist. I was also told that there are only 5 in the US and Me and my boy has 2. So purty!

If power was your goal, you should have gone with the Bisi header.

Re: RARE....HKS Headers for B Series
They look nice and the way the pipes get bigger really givea mor power than the dc. bisimoto uses that aswell. but i think bisi is the sh!+. and his headers are probably alittle better. great find if ur into the rare factor

Re: RARE....HKS Headers for B Series
The OP would have gained signifiacntly with the Bisimoto custom header. The HKS one was the hype years ago, but became unpopular quickly as they made maginal gains over the JDM type R headers from Honda, did not have true merge collectors, and were easy to dent due to poor ground clearance on lowered cars.
A properly designed custom unit will always out perform a one-size-fit-all header. The issues with lowered cars are the reasons why the Bisimoto collector exists in front of the engine, and not below the pan.

Re: RARE....HKS Headers for B Series
There is no doubt in my mind that Bisimoto headers would have been ideal for my application and that was my first choice over other headers that I looked into.
But these were so JDM and nicely constructed and that I couldnt pass them up!

Re: RARE....HKS Headers for B Series
@ bisimoto respectfully, so when you say marginal, what HP difference are we talking about? Was this information that was rumored around or from hands on experience?
What determines a true merge collector?
You are correct regarding clearance for the US market cars because in Japan they dont lower cars as we do here on the US. This information was the same information from my friend in respect to clearance prior to this thread. There is a "U" loop in front of the header channel that is currently being relocated higher to avoid these clearance issues whereas the bottom of the header is the lowest point.
