Default Radiators Question

Well I have been pondering Changing my Radiator out I What kind to get is my biggiest decision I have looked @

C&R W/Spal Fan - Cost is a Little Higher Than Average Does Any one run this radiator?? and what is you opinion on it?? Cause I am swaying toward C&R

Fluidyne - Alot People of people run these priced ok

PWR - About the Same as fluidyne a Little Cheaper

Oem All Metal 2Row - Cheaper than all three Would I benifit from this?? would a 2row have a better than stock cooling or the same affect as my other 3 choices

first money is not really an issue I am trying to build for Reliability an Longevity I am not making lots of Hp "I just have do it right the first tims attitude" if anyone can give me some more info... on my choices I have listed to help me make a decision thanks in advance

i can help you out in this matter as i was shopping for aluminum rads a while back.

The Fluidyne is a beautiful unit which you can pick up for usually 350 or so. one draw back though. If you do not buy the a/c fan kit that fluidyne makes for it, the stock a/c fan will not work because the space is very limited after you install the fluidyne unit. So you are forced to spend another 65-80 for the a/c fan if a/c is important to you or if you live in a very hot climate. without the a/c fan, while sitting at idle on a hot day in traffic, you'll notice while running your a/c it will feel moist and sort of like a swamp cooler. this is because the radiator isn't cool enough to keep the a/c cold.
the pwr i am not sure on. but if it is a triple core you can pretty much assume that the a/c fan will have to be modified, or an aftermarket onewill haveto be purchased.

the same with the other one you listed up there.

I did find that the Koyo-available through Summit Racing for about 380, is a triple core aluminum rad, is a direct drop in and is supplied with the right a/c fan to fit the car for the price i quoted above. i would have gone this route but didn't find out about it until after i bought m fluidyne.

hope that helps

i have a fluidyne in my 95 gsr. i love it but there are a few things i dont like

1) stock fans would not fit (the normal fan fit but was very very tight)
2) you gota use the zip tie things to get the slim fans on
3) in the winter my car takes FOREVER to warm up (during idle if heat is on you can see the temp drop quick)

other than that i love it. very sleek looking and i feel better about raceing my car now.

the fans never ever come on any more. ive heard them maby 5 times in like 3 months so that shows it cools better.

i got it for 400$ shipped with the ac fan from someone on these forums and at first i was kinda upset i spent so much $, but now im glad i didnt get a stock 1 again

i had the same problema nd unless you replaced your thermostat and fan switch you have a bad thermo. My car wouldn't heat up at all. You drive down the highway and you could see the temp drop right in fron tof your eyes. At first i thought it was the magic of the fluidyne radiator, but after i read a couple threads about no heat and other hvac related problems i decided to go ahead and replace the thermo stat.

well after the thermostat was repl;aced the car heated up fine stayed where it was supposed to on the heat gauge and i haen't had an issue since.

REPLACE YOUR THERMOSTAT and everything will go back to normal.

do you think if you replaced it with a low temp thermostat like a mugen or spoon, would it still heat up better than a broke thermostat?

I had a fluidyne that corroded through and totally ruined the core. IF you do run an aluminum radiator, make sure that you use an additive that neutralizes electrolysis and prevents corrosion. Its nost "rust" per say, but aluminum can still corrode. Most radiator shops can help you out. Also, I am having a custom one made by C&R for my nissan Sr20DET car, they are a great place.
