Are b18a camshafts the same as b18b performance wise?

Incorrect buddy......B18a is from a 2nd gen ls (don't know if theres a 2g rs or gs) teg while a b18b is found in a 3rd gen ls,rs,and gs

Oh....and about the performance....I think they're the same but don't quote me on that.

you're right about them being practically the same......but I don't know where you got the b18a from LS and b18b from RS stuff
the b18a motor was found in Integra RS, LS, GS, and GS SE from 90-93, with the 90-91 running off a obd-0 ecu (pr4) producing 130-132 hp at the flywheel. While the 92-93 b18a ran off a obd-1 ecu (also named pr4) producing 140 hp at the flywheel.
The b18b was introduced in the 94 Integra and was found in the 94-01 integra RS, LS, GS, and SE. It produced 142 hp at the flywheel.

The hp difference between the motors was not because of camshafts. If you want performance difference from camshafts, go with crower, or do a search for some other setups.

Ok you did a pretty good job of shutting this post down, but actually, 94-95 obd1's made 142hp while the 96-01 obd2's made 140hp.

I thought that the camshaft design was changed after 1991, providing a more aggressive style to them? Which is why the hp increased (with the help of it also changing to obd1.)

Default Re: Quick question (xDA9x)

I was told that it was ecu tuning, and better flow. But I have never taken out the cam shafts from a b18a and a b18b and compared the two. Hmmm, maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I had reliable sources on this one.
Question for Grease Monkey, why do you ask? are you planning on buying a set, or do you have a set laying around that you want to try?
If you have a set laying around, give it a try, but if you are thinking of buying a set for a hp increase, I would save my money.

I thought I did too haha, maybe I'm wrong? could somebody clarify?

And yes why do you ask Grease Monkey? Were you thinking about swapping b18a cams for some b18b or something? If so, I wouldn't do it...waste of money IMHO.
