I am really leaning towards that car, because if that's the only problem, I can repair it and hopefully it'll be around the same price of that other car without the concerns and sketchiness. The car is stock and the owner doesn't seem like he floors it every chance he gets.

There is this other car I was looking at

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ149912002

The millage is a lot more, but perhaps I can have him lower it to 1800 as well. Not sure if he'll go lower than that though because he has some mods done to it. There's no rust on it, but he said where the rust has been fixed, it could use a paint job. But other than the paint and millage, this car seems like a better buy.

i believe your best bet is the 94 ls with the rust!! it is so much cleaner than the other ones and way less abused in my view, the only reason i would say that car has rust there and only there is very simple... notice how the trim on the side is missing.. it probably got rubbed in a little fender bender and rust has started due to the damage but other than that the car looks MINT!!

I think I'll still lean towards the one with the rust though. As long at it's not costing me 1000 bucks to fix.

Like I said, see if you can test drive it and go get an estimate. That's gonna help a lot with you decision. And always be weary of modded cars. You never know. Several people local to me have bought modded cars and were not happy. Newspaper stuff in holes and filled over, engines blowing up after only a a hundred or so miles, one kids dash even caught on fire. You need to always be careful.

It'll be closer to 1000k, The engine isn't terribly high for that price. Then I can put the extra money into fixing the rust. Am I thinking it's more simple then it actually will be?

that rust is on the shell--you can't swap out parts to fix the majority of it. you will have to get someone to cut it out, weld in new steel, bondo it up and repaint it. the doors, front fenders, hood, bumpers, skirts, and trunk/hatches can be replaced, every other body part is the shell/welded together.

As long as it can be fixed for a reasonable price, it should be ok.

How much does a can of the right paint usually cost?

People are telling me that it's going to cost way to much to fix and to just buy a car with high ks and a better body. Personally I'm not a fan at all of buying cars that have been engine swapped.

And you shouldn't be. Go look at the car. Look for rust on the undercarriage. If that quarter is all there is and you willing to pay to fix it, talk him down in price and buy it.

The modded integra should be checked for compression & cam wear. He's likely been runnin the hell out of it and knows that it will likely be goin out soon. Clutch is probably worn as well

yup, that rust is the only major problem. Other things are really minor like a the radio antenna not going in all the way, just needs lube. I don't even listen to the radio.

Is that the only area rusted? Anything on the undercarriage?

undercarriage is rust proofed so nothing visible as perfectly as we could tell without hoisting it up. Which is what I'm going to do tomorrow. The other rust places are extremely minor. Like where the spoiler connects to the trunk. I can just buy a whole new trunk for cheap.

Well it sounds like you may have yourself a decent project car. You got him down in price, not a whole lot of bodywork aside from the rear quarter, and an un-molested motor. As long as your willing to put the time and effort into it I'd buy it.

WOW... Well I guess this plan is going to fail... It was estimated at pretty much 1800 to repair and refinish.

I contacted a few friends who have hook ups. So I'm waiting to hear back from them. In the meanwhile, I was wondering how much do people usually charge for a rear quarter panel?
