Default quick question.....

my gsr head is at the shop getting a mild port and polish with type r internals......but is it ok to just mount it back onto my block.....the motor only has 63,000 miles on it so its still very fresh and low.....so would it be safe to still run synthetic oil or should i switch back to regular oil untill i break the new fresh built head.....kinda low on a fund so i only was able to build the head for now but need the car back up and running......any info would be great guys thx......

Well u didn't touch your bottom end but I would still run it for a day and change the oil then run it for 2 weeks. I never use synthetic but that's jus me. After that 2 weeks u can switch back to synthetic if u want but just keep an eye out for leaks and watch the oil level. As far as how you drive it is up to you like I said u didn't touch the bottom end.So as long as you let it warm up properly and cool down properly you can let it rip

1 more question guys since i did a mild port and polish on my head would it be safe to mount it back onto my block without doing any block work or taking it to a shop to get resurface.....just want to be on the safe side plus my engine only has 63k miles on it......any info would be great before i change heads thx

Well when u took your head in did they say it was warped? You should be able to just clean up the surface of the block and you should be good to go

you dont need to break in a head. run synthetic from the start if you want. make sure the head isnt warped, the block doesnt need to be decked, clean the mating surfaces, and bolt that head back on.

na the head is fine nothing wrong with it......so wat parts would i need to clean lol didn't knoe wat u mean by mating surface still got alot to learn thx

sorry it took me so long to reply i would run reg oil at first for a couple of reasons one so u can drive it for a bit and check for leaks and what not and also just for peace of mind for minor things that could have got into the block while the head was off or anything that couldve been left in the head to flush out so after u do an oil change it flushes all that stuff out and u didnt just waste all that money on synthetic.
