Default Questions about the Acura Intergra.

I'm looking to get a 94-95 Integra RS or LS to daily drive.
Which one is worth more?
I think they both come with B18A engines, right?
What seems to be the going price for one of them?
Any unusual thing to look for besides the obious?
Thanks for any info.
PM if you know someone selling one around the NY-NJ-CT area.

I've checked CL.
I couldn't find what I wanted though.

Being so old now youre gonna see a wide variety of conditions among a wide variety of price ranges. RS and LS will probably be the same value. Aside from deciding what youre gonna do in the long run with the car you should just find the best condition you can find within your price range.

They come with the B18b.
The LS and RS are worth about the same, but for the moonroof, and other gizmos, the LS would be a better option.
For best bang for buck, look for one that is all stock. Not modified in any way shape or form.
Look to spen anywhere from 1200-5000.

I would shoot for an RS if I were you. Non abs is a plus in my book, it would save you trouble as most of these throw codes for it at that age. No moonroof isn't such a bad thing, and the RS chassis is the lightest if my memory serves me.

Why no abs? Are you the tucked, shaved, "JDM" kind of guy?
If your throwing a code, then there is something wrong with your ABS system correct? I can tell you how to get rid of those codes that they tend to throw for them being 10-18 years old. Fix it.

If I were in the market, acutually I am, I would buy a 94-00 stock GSR. If you ever plan on ridding of the integra, GSRs can sell more than the LS.

Best advice is to just get an LS with working ABS.

I'm thinking about $3,000
I figured I could get a nice 95 LS for that much, right?

^LOL, truth...everything is "far from" when it comes to the RS trim.

My RS has AC and Power Door locks, no ABS (which is preferred by me), but I sure could use cruise control for road trips.

I'm just more of a simplistic guy. I like no power steering, and could do without AC ( although I still have my system in). In my mind, less gizmos, less hassles. I'm not lazy, i fix everything on my car when need be. Its no mystery that a Gs-r would sell for more as it was the highest trim level. It seems the OP is on a budget, so I just pointed out the benefits of the RS chassis.

It came with A/C and power locks, or you added them?
My 94 RS did not come with A/C or power door locks, although I did add power door locks, next will be CC.

What year is your RS?
Or is it a differance between USDM and CDM Integras. 94

^I'm with u, I'd like to delete ABS seeing as how some of the fastest vehicles on the planet don't utilize them. Some mod deleted my post cuz he said that was a overstatement. (Obviously he didnt own a dc)But as the saying goes u get what u pay for... shoot for an RS or clean LS. I got mine for 1,800 in California. Depending on who u ask I either got ripped off, or a really good deal. Keep looking cuz patients gets u a lot.

Well geez, maybe I spoke out of place? '95 db7 is my current year/model.

Purchased the car used (obviously) It has PDL and AC...I suppose maybe the original owner added this as an option as they were available for the RS a the time???

My reasoning for thinking this was considered standard is because my DC2 RS had the exact same trim options, it was a '96. Obviously different 1st owners, perhaps these were just the most common additions to the RS trim at the time and both of mine had it?

FCM- Would you be willing to PM or point me a couple links regarding the addition of CC? Is it a pain in the a$$??? I've never thought about adding this...but I sure could use it.

The reason racecars lack ABS is because skilled drivers can brake harder using threshold braking than with ABS and can do it thousands of times without making a mistake.

The reason street-driven cars (even supercars) have ABS is because you, along with most of the people on this forum, cannot threshold brake very well, and the consequence of failed threshold braking is a 4-wheel lockup. Since the world isn't a racetrack, it's important that people be able to safely respond to emergency braking/maneuvering situations. ABS makes this very easy and eliminates the risk of lockup. It also allows some degree of steering control during braking.

dtndvtec got cranky because when you're a mature performance car enthusiast, it gets annoying when people do ridiculous and often dangerous things because they don't understand the real-world importance of responsible driving. ABS-delete is irresponsible in most cases and is a very 'boy-racer' thing to do, especially if the only reason is because race cars do it. It gives responsible performance enthusiasts a bad name and is constantly vexing on these forums... that said, if you're doing it to a track car and you've got enough seat time that you can brake safely without ABS, then knock yourself out. The OP is almost certainly better off with it, however.

I got the CC from a wrecked 95 GS-R, but we add CC to cars all the time... http://www.rostra.com/products/unive...by-rostra.html 94
