Did a search but didn't see a question on actually replacing it.

I know the top portion has a 12mm screw. But the lower portion is secured in with this silverish "thing". Not sure what else to call it, I was tempted to just use a flat head and try to pry it out but wasn't sure if it would securely snap back on when I installed the new strut.

ps: Jeezus the hatch is insanely heavy!!

Any one got any ideas or tips. Any help is appreciated. Thx
