Default Question on Chipped OBD 1 p72

If i get a chipped OBD 1 ecu, would it run good with my gsr manifold? The reason i ask is because i don't have enough money to get a obd1 harness, obd1 chipped ecu, and skunk2 intake manifold.

I have heard that p28 users use only a single runner intake manifold. But since the p72 is made for the GSR, would it still open up my secondaries even though its chipped?

if u are gettin a custom chip u can tell the person to disable the double butterfly and make it a single on da p72

Yes the chipped obd1 p72 ecu will work fine. When people go to the skunk manifold, they generally run a chipped obd1 p28 ecu for the single runner.

ummm...why the hell would he want to disable the butterflies on a p72 ecu if he wants the butterflies?!! if he was going to go that route, why not save money and get a chipped p28.

yes the p72 will still operate your butterflies after being chipped. if your going to get the skunk mani, then i'd just get the p28

Sweet, i think i'm just going to get the p72 for now. I have no money for a skunk2 intake manifold at the moment. Any advantages of running p28 as opposed to p72 other than the fact that there are more chips offered for the p28? I plan on getting a hondata some day, so i think a chip would be pointless. Just has to be obd1 right?

Stay with a p72...the only reason to go p28 is with a single runnier intake manifold.

what happens if you run a skunk2 manifold with a p72 ecu and with no chips? I've got a similar setup, and it works great. It did'nt seem to be leaning out or anything.

Nothing happens.

I've had a lot of chips, and I'm starting to chip ECU's now. The main thing I've noticed is that most GSR chips have the information for the dual runner built into it.
