Default Question about spring rates

How do the japanese measure spring rates? Like we measure them with pounds/inches. i'm looking at the papers my springs came with.. i don't understand a word it says, it's all in japanese.. but for the "medium" type springs it says 2.4~8.0 for the fronts and 1.0~6.9 for the rears.. i'm pretty sure these are the spring rates, just not too sure about the unit of measure. it'd be helpful if someone could convert these #'s to lbs/in too. thanks. these are tein s'tech medium springs for an ITR btw.

they're already in my car, i'm just trying to figure out what the spring rates are for comparison purposes.. these aren't the coilovers, these are just the springs alone made by tein

oh yeah i have a friend that works at that home depot, he drives a white GSR. it was probably him

if I remember right, you multiply it by 55.

so your front rates...which i guess are progressive (yuck!) are 132-440

and rear is silly soft starting at 55 - 379 llbs

I was looking at these springs also, but decided the rear was way soft on the starting range, plus the front springs are progressive and I wanted linear for auto-x'ing.

At any rate...how do you like them? Do you race at all with them?

i knew he went to newark memorial too, but wasn't sure if it was you or not...... after cruising the parking lot and not seeing your car with the JDM front, i was pretty sure it wasn't you.... but then again i thought you might have sold it to pay for your lawyer hehe

almost-vtec: thanks.. well my car isn't a "race" car so i figured these would be perfect for getting me around here and there.. i gotta admit they're VERY soft and sometimes they stiffen up whe you don't want them to... like suddenly the ride starts getting all harsh.. and on severe roads, it's like the soft spring rate doesn't exist! That's why i'm swapping them out for some H&R sports.. 276 lbs/in on all fours

keys: he graduated like 2 years ago.. he goes to chico now. but hey my lawyer bailed me out! and i still get to keep my front end
