Question..
ok, so i have a few choices.
build my block..
b18a1 turn it into an ls vtec..
or,
buy a b18c5 engine..
or put turbo onto my b18a1..
i want the b18c5 so that i can turbo it later...
but if you think i should do something else i would be open for discussion..
i have a 1989 b18a1 integra..

amen, to that..
well i was highly considering the b18c5 complete with ecu and wiring harness for $5,000 australian..
then lateron putting a turbo on it..
putting a 10 pound turbo on my b18a1 right now would be fast and i think realiable..
the b18c5 would deffinetly be realiable not so fast.. faster then the regular 1.8 litre though..
building the b18a1 and putting a b16 vtec head on it would make it pretty much as fast or realiable as the b18c5.. but the b18c5 is more newer.. i'd say.. with less k's and less work to put it in..
correct me if im wrong..
i have as much money as it will take..
i want maximum power with what ever i do decide to use.. i deffinetly want realiabitly.
so i guess it comes down to what people have done and what people know, that would help me now.. because i have never worked a honda.. so i need your suggestions and comments to help me out

ls-v then boost FTW. R's are to expensive and im sure you would half to reuild your b18a1 or buy a lower mileage b18b if you want it to be reliable.
at i want to change my motor .. b18a1.. because rebuilding it will take time, take my car off the road and stuff..
so i'd much prefer to buy and install another engine within a few days..
im now looking at the b16 vtec.. and maybe putting a turbo on that..
the b16 vtec they told me was about $2600 aud..
the b18c5 was $3000 ...
the transplant all up would cost $5000, my price range..
then eventually a turbo on either would make me happy.
but then people are saying that turbo'ing the b18c5 would mean to much pressure..

C5 is Type-R. I suggest turboing the B18a (if you're keeping it and compression is good) or getting a good-compression B18 and turboing it. You'll be the fastest out of the 3 choices you put, and probably the cheapest with reliability in mind.
my b18a atm is in very good nick..
all that i would say is it has 300k's on the clock.. a rebuild would be a deffinete..
and if i was to rebuild this motor i would put a b16 vtec on it..
which in mind sounds like the best idea because i have read up on it..
all in all, ls/vtec with low compression would be fast before the turbo and faster with the turbo..
but building my engine is a no go.. because.. i cant have my car off the road for long..
i have absoloutly no hands on expierience of changing heads and ****..
i live in australia parts are expensive and hard to find.. and i dont have the right tools..
building my engine with a b16 vtec would be awsome.. and if the shop could do it.. then i would..
but then, they dont really wanna speak to you unless you have the money there and then..
