I searched thinking that others might have had this problem, but almost every post had their door lock mechanisms sticking which is not my problem.

My problem is, my door locks (both sides) don't lock if I use my alarm remote or power door lock switch. I can lock them manually from inside and outside the car(using a key). I took both door panels off and both have all wires hooked up correctly, or at least it appeared. Also, my power windows and mirrors work so I don't know what is wrong.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this. I am going to install my new Viper 791xv tomorrow and I would like the door locks to work. Also, if anyone can check their Haynes or Helms manual to see if there's another wire (power, ground, whatever) that I should check for.

looks like its a problem with your alarm. I had the same problem, except my doors would remote lock, but not remote unlock, took it to the alarm dealer, and they fixed it in like 10min.

 

well i had that problem with my alarm (circuit city installed it) but after i took it back they said the wires were too close to the unlock wires or touching or something .. im pretty sure your alarm is wired wrong otherwise it should work or perhaps something on it is shorted.. y don't you just install the viper and see if that works?

 

I guess I never thought it could be my alarm. It's some cheap alarm that I bought when I first got the car. I guess I will see if the Viper alarm fixes the problem. Thanks.
