Possible problem with ECU
My car has been stuck in safety mode. Tried pulling codes, and resetting ecu. No codes, and resetting didn't work. Car would run for around 5 minutes (idling) and then throw a cel. I'd even try to pull codes while running, nothing. So, I decided to check the ECU. Pulled carpet back, and the kick plate was rusted. So I unhooked the computer, and took it apart. There was mold inside of the case, on the corner of the circuit board. I cleaned it up, then hooked it back up. Fired the car up, and it was out of safety mode. Plus, the check engine light came on as soon as it was started (instead of it having to idle 5 minutes or so before it came on. Before I took the computer out, the idle would vary. But now it idles fine. I still can't get a trouble code by jumping the connector. What else could be causing the cel to come on? And why am I not receiving a code? Specifics are...1992 Integra RS, B18A1, 5 spd, 142,xxx miles. No aftermarket modificiations.
