Default Is this possible?

I read somewhere that a guy put a Nissan SR20 in a civic, and made it rear wheel drive. Is it possible to do it to an integra? I know it would cost a **** load of money. But I was just wondering if it was possible. Thanks.

anything's possible, but with that amount of money invest into that, save it and go internal turbo charged, way faster. Unless you planning to be different i guess..

I'm not planning on doing it. Even if I was, it would be a long time. I'm only 17. I just thought an SR20 would put out alot more than any B-series. And it would be badass to bust out a RWD peelout in a race.

Dammit...there was a post about this a looong time ago. When the 1st Fast and Furious movie came out. It all started cuz in the movie, Johnny Tran mentioned putting SR20's in his 3 Civics. That drove everyone on h-t nuts until someone posted pics of an actual Civic with an SR20 swap....

Let me see if I can find it....

So was this car really converted to RWD? And that engine looks really small when it's in that bay. It looks alot bigger in my friends 240.

yeah, that would be real badass and its kinda hard to "peelout" while holding a pretty high speed, unless you have so much power that you wouldn't even be able to maintain traction thru the first few gears. something in the range of 1000hp and 700 lb-ft with rwd. but, then you'd have already killed yourself.

That would be a nice conversion, but you would need a lot of money.

I'm curious as to if that sr20 swap in that civic will be rwd or fwd. doesn't looks like theres enough room for the tranny...?

Actually jackass, it would be pretty cool. And when you are starting the race it would be cool to pull a RWD peelout, not while you are going. You are a real idiot.

That would be a sr20de/ve non turbo model. There might be a fwd turbo model but it's been a while and I cant remember. ... nevermind the website says it's a det although i dont see the turbo. people usually swap em into sers.

So would it be possible to make it RWD. My dad told me no, because there would be no place for the driveshaft underneath the car. But could you cut the chassis to make room for one?

Yes, there is a FWD Turbo SR20DET. It came in the Nissan Pulsar GTi-R in Japan which was actually AWD, but when Sentra SE-R owners swap them in here, they are just FWD for obvious reasons. O how I love Nissan...

To my knowledge that is probably the 1st swap like that done into a civic, and they are not finished with it yet.

integralittleboy: you are right about me being a jackass, but you are the idiot for thinking it would be cool to "peelout" when starting a race.
loss of traction=loss of time. and you don't want that or you will be behind. and most likely, your probably talking about street racing, not a road course. but, then again, your still learning, so you still have a while to figure that out and how to properly launch a car to prevent too much wheelspin without bogging the motor and also losing precious time. it can be quite tricky on cars with alot of lowend power (Read:torque) and thats why there is a launch program part of the traction control system on many performance cars.

it would be sitting differently in the bay if it were rear wheel drive. It would go the long way with the tranny going towards the rear. un less you have someone make a custom differential. You could make it rear wheel drive by putting it in the back of the car...ive seen this in magazines and its pretty badass.

Ok, I have never seen anyone take off, and not peel out. So I still think that would be cool. And if I was racing some riced out car ( and there are alot in Austin), it would be cool and I would still smoke him. That's all I was saying.
