I'm working on my buddy's 98 GSR. He recently got his engine ported, but the A/F meter reads lean during normal driving. So I'm even scared to drive his car harder into the higher revs. Shouldn't a ported engine read rich? It reads rich at idle, but i figure that's normal anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

 

At idle it should run in a loop between lean/rich... at least that's what mine has always done.
