Please help we with...
...a couple of things wrong with my 94 GSR.
First, for about the last week or so, I have noticed a huge amount of gear shift travel during acceleration. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Here's the scenario: I put it into gear and it is fine, but when I take off, the shifter will go forward about another inch and then when I let off the gas it will come back to its original spot. If I am doing any sort of spirited driving, it is even worse. Could it be the engine, transmission, or even the shifter bushings? I haven't checked any of them.
Also, mostly when I just start driving the car, and am making left turns, I hear a loud clicking coming from the passenger side wheel area. Is this most likely the CV joint or are ther other possibilities. I jacked up the passenger side of the car and spun the wheel and there was a tiny clicking noise, but the other wheel did the same thing and I don't hear it when turning to the right. There were also no visible rips in the boots on the axles.
Thanks in advance for any help.

For the first problem, jack up the car and check to see if the bolts on the shift linkage is tight. It may have come loose, causing a lot more travel than usual. Check at both ends at where the linkage connects to the tranny and where it bolts to the shifter end. Also double check the bolts on your tranny and the condition of the rubber mounts.
For the second problem, check your brake lines to see if they are contacing anything. Also check the shields around the calipers to see if they are touching anything. Basically go over everything that could be touching a turning object. If still nothing, bring it to someone that can check to see if your axles are messed up internally. I'm not sure how to check that so i can't help much there.
Good luck!
