Default Please help engine problem

I have an engine tick in my ls motor. I did my research and found that valve lash would be the problem. So i paid a guy i know who has alot of experience with cars and hondas in particular to help me adjust my valves. We let the car sit with a fan blowing on the motor for about an hour. When we checked the valves they were tighter then they were supposed to be. So we put them back to spec and now my car sound worse then it did before! Does any one have any idea wht this could be?? thanks
