pistons

In a perfect world, everything would be brand new! But my world is far from perfect. I have a 280K mile engine, the pistons I bought have less than 80K and look mint. My decision is pretty easy. Used parts are fine if you inspect them and they check out. Look at the skirts and ringlands and crowns. -- Now used electrical parts scare me. Pistons are alittle more tricky also, because they can become out of round, along with the cylinders, but once again, inspect, inspect, inspect.
Read some posts and you will see that many builders are using used cams, pistons, rods, and cranks from various engines to build monsters. Just make sure to inspect them. New is better, no doubt, but the cost/benefit ratio comes into play.
