paint chips
I know this is a stupid question, but I've never had a car I liked enough to actually fix any paint chips.
I noticed I have a chip about the size of a dime, in addition its rusting pretty bad.
I take it I should remove the rust and then cover it up with some touch up paint.
What should I remove the rust with? Are there any good dissolvers out there?
Where do I get touch up paint? Only at the dealership, or can any automotive place hook me up?
Do I need to apply a clear coat finish on top of the touch up, or just leave it as is?
thanks

if it isnt too bad you could probably sand it down with your hand. if not probably a dremel would work.
fill in the hole with touch up paint.
let it dry then use several layers of clearcoat till it's filled up
sand it down with fine sandpaper until it's flush with the rest of the car.

don't forget to keep the surface and the sandpaper wet when you do this

And don't forget to tape off the surrounding paint so you don't sand through it.
I'd buy onw of those 3M scratch sander pens at Wal-Mart or whereever to sand out the nick.
Acura touch-up paint has clear-coat in it. I find that seperate clear-coat is another aggravation.
