Default Overheating and sputtering solved? Too weird...

Before going to the track last night...I did my usual inspection...oil, plugs, etc.
Upon inspecting I noticed the transmission ground wire looked a little loose...so I tighetened it.

Got in the car and drove away. Immediately I noticed the A/F Gauge was operating again! The gauge had slowly stopped working about a week ago..a few days before the water temp/sputtering started.

Drove to the track..about a 25 mile drive...no problems whatsoever with the water temp. Ran at the track many times..no problems.

Today...started my car and took off...no sputtering! Drove in the heat..on the freeway..for about 20 miles...no problems!

So...all my problems were due to the transmission ground?! Seems to make sense.
The car was probably NEVER overheating...but the gauge might have not een working correctly and said it was. The sputtering? Probably due to the fact that the O2 sensor wasnt properly grounded?

Ill see how the next couple days go..but so far things are looking up.

So the moral of the story is...make sure everything is tightened down.

Works for me...

that's interesting, I am having similar problems and I noticed my transmission ground is almost broken off. I have to run new wire and see if that alleviates my problems. I never even though of that, and it's always the easy overlooked stuff. well atleast most of the time.
