Hey Guys, I was wondering if anyone can help me out. On my way home from school yesterday, got on the highway and I took my car to 7k rpm, 1st, 2nd just for fun. Normally its ok, ive owned my car for 2 years now and never had a problem before. As I exit of the highway I notice smoke coming from my engine bay. I pull over to see what it was. It smelled like radiator fluid but looked like water vapor. I notice that it was leaking something (fluid) in the back, under the intake arm. The car starts to over overheat on idle but when I start to drive its not bad but still overheating. Here are some pictures of where my car overheats at and some info on my car that might help.

1995 Acura Integra LS
Engine is stock
Except for a K&N air filter,
NGK Spark Plugs, and wires
160,000+ miles

Where smoke and the leak came from.

Blue: Normally
Green: Overheating While Driving
Red: Over
heating on Idle

Anything will help, If this has happend to anyone let me know how to fix this problem. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

I had a similar experience but I was able to spot the vapor coming from the bypass hose. The 3rd picture you posted shows the hose. It comes off the head it's a 180 degree shaped hose.

Hope it helps.

Same thing happened to my gf i believe. This is what she told me she went to jack in the box and was idleing and waiting for her food. Then all of a sudden she smells something funny and see the thermometer- or whatever raising. She then see's smoke- I think she told me it was white smoke. Then shuts it off. Then she turns it back on and drives home normally.

I take a look at it after work, but I didn't know where the smoke was coming from. So I check the coolant reseviour and it's empty?? I was like thats not too bad as long as there is coolant in the radiator- but I dont know how to check it. So i keep filling up the reseviour and driving for a little around my house. Also there is a leak somewhere, cant find it.

Anyone know how to check how much coolant is in your radiator?

I was reading on the evo forum about a sorta similar problem and they said it could be a blown headgasket also...

your pointing in your pics directly to the throttle body area.

There are several small rubber coolant hoses in that area. Check all of them.

I had one that had a penhole that was spraying coolant out therefore useing it to the point where it was overheating due to low coolant.

A headgasket is least likely, check your hoses since you noticed steem from that area.

Your radiator only really will hold about a gallon 1/2 at the most, so you could be overheating from low coolant.

Ya, my resovoir tank is empty along with my radiotor. The leaks probably the hose. Hopefully.

I found out what was wrong, One of my radiator hoses clamps where broken of that why when I first looked at it they were all in correctly but the hose wasnt in tightly, so I got a new clamp and filled my resevoir and radiator back up with rad. fluid. The hose that was loose was the one of the bigger ones, its visible through the the front of the engine bay and kinda looks like a mini cai.
