Overheating issue
whats up guys, i just recently built a b18c1 and with 125 miles on the motor, its starting to over heat a bit
The engine: Darton Mid deck sleeves
: Cometic head gasket
: new water pump, thermostat (all oem)
: autozone radiator, with 11 inch slim fan
: prestone 50/50 coolant
So far ive checked: there are no leaks, im only running 3 coolant hoses, top and bottom radiator hoses and the 90 bend from the thermo housing to the intake manifold. I bled the system. Fan is coming on, i even jumped fan to try and keep it cool. Block and head were decked prior to install
Issue: While im driving for say 20 minutes.. it starts to warm more than normal
thoughts of issue: Need different type of coolant with darton sleeves
: maybe fan is too small, its only 11 inch
: maybe cometic head gasket is leaking, ive read issues on these before, machine shop recommended it for this type of sleeve
: i have arp studs but never went back and retorqued after the 10 heat cycle
any other ideas or solutions please help

yes sir, im running an edelbrock victor x manifold, The only hoses im running are top and bottom radiator hose and that almost 90 degree hose connected to the intake manifold
Where on temp gauge is it sitting? Do both hoses measure almost same temp(use laser thermometer if you can). I retorque my head bolts for peace of mind. Not to insult-Did you use proper torque sequence/2- step method?

the temp gauge is stock in the head. And yes sir i followed oem head torque sequence and used arp torque specs. I checked my oil for coolant but i dont see any. I read up on Darton Mid Sleeves dropping and or leaking
oh sry i miss read that. On the gauge its sitting right past normal temp and rises and lowers a tad during driving. Hondata says its about 208 degrees and threw an error code
I would check the hose temps to verify t-stat/radiator is working properly. What code did it throw? When I bleed air out I bounce up/down on the doorsill to "rock" out any air pockets while bleeder is open slightly and idling.
hondata sent a code in the error report. Engine overheating. Im starting to think that the radiator fan is too small its only 11 inches and isnt pulling the hot air out enough. I placed my hand near it when it was on and it was barely blowing. The fan comes on because the thermo stat is opening. Its brand new oem, but i guess it could be bad
