oil temp sensor, need help!
hey i have a obd0 teg and im putting in a 92 obd1 block and there was no oil temp sensor on the obd1 block but on the obd0 wire harness requires the oil temp sensor. is it safe to drive it unconnected? any insight would be helpful asap. thanks
hey thanks, its an ls motor. heres some questions i have:
1) should it be the same location as the obd0?
2) on the obd0 block its near the oil filter and on the obd1 theres just a bolt there, like almost its sealed up. It looks as if the bolt was there from the factory, do you think it would be bad to drive without it

i would think it probly would be a bad idea to drive without it, ask the person who u got the block from what hapen to... If u need one i got a extra one and BTW it should be to the timing belt side of the block beside the oil filter.

Are you sure it's an oil temp. sensor and not a coolant temp. sensor? The two are more or less beside each other. I recently changed over a ZC motor to OBD1 and found that the coolant temp. sensor was on the thermostat housing rather than screwed into the block. I just switched the stat. housing and took out the original sensor and fitted the blanker from the donor engine. You could probably extend the wiring also if thes is the case. Hope this helps...
