Two holes/bumps on the bottom of the dipstick, correct?

Completely filled should get you oil up to the 2nd bump, that's 100% filled. Filled to the bottom bump means ~1qt low.

Anything in between is usually ok.

thats pretty good since i use mobile one and recently got an oil change. i was just driving and check engine light came on and computer wouldnt let me rev past 5000 rpm's. i knew right away what it was but when i pulled the dipstick out there was nothing. i just put two quarts in and its barely at the secon dot. how the hell could i have burned that much synthetic oil in a month and a half? i only drove 2000 miles or so.

Check your oil after ur car sits for a while..All the oil is in the engine, not in the pan

Not being a wise guy. You said you saw the cel, so u got out and checked the oil. If you check the oil while the car is running, or right after you shut it off. Most of the oil is in the engine., cam lobes, etc

Tomorrow morn, before you start the car, check the oil level. That should give you a better idea of if you are burning/losing oil somewhere, or if you've overfilled.
