Default Oil For Engine

After reading many post about mobil synthetic oil, i want to use it but a friend told me that if my engine is use to non synthetic oil then i cant switch to synthetic. Is that true? My My car has 130k and has been using non synthetic oil all its life.

if u havent been running synthetic and u switch it could actully cause problems since synthetics and non-synthetics dont mix, even though there will only be a little left after u drain ur oil its in the small places where oil is vital the most and if the oils wont mix then it could cause problems

The oil companys say you can mix synthetic with non(thats what a synthetic blend is). They do state that you should always use the same brand though. As for a car that has been using regular oil for a lot of miles. It has shown that changing to synthetic in some cases caused oil leaks.
