Default obd1-obd2?????

what up guys just wanted to know, im gettin a new gsr swap in my hatch, i had a 94 gsr in it, now i wanna get a 2001, but people are telling me to keep my ecu(p72) and put it in the newer motor, how can i do this, i mean i know they sell the obd1-obd2 conversion harness, but then thats it? i dont have to change anythin else? and whats the difference in power or performance wise? thanx alot guys

Just the conversion harness, it's that easy.

As far as power gain, not sure of exact figures. I went ODB1 in my 99 GSR and it was a noticable difference. Also with ODB1 you can use a test pipe. I have not done any major upgrades, but I have been told the ODB1 ECU "reacts" better to intake and cam upgrades.

OBD2 causes more problems than OBD1 when you are modifying your car.
If you plan on doing any type of forced induction mods stick with obd1.
