Default GSR Performance

Hey guys, I'm new here and i'm looking to buy a GSR before the end of the year. I was wondering if theres any performance difference from the earlier years 95-98 and the newere ones 99-01. I know they have the same B18C1 engine, and the power output is roughly the same, was just wondering if maybe the newer ones have some tweaks to it that could make it possibly perform better. Thanks.

get a 94-95. After 95, the GSR is equipped with a new computer which limits the power output of mods you do in the future.

So a 94-95 would overall be a better car to get?

95's can be found pretty cheap around here, i might want to go with a newer one and just get that harness you were talking about. I'm pretty much just sizing up my options right now. What amount of miles should be the max that I look for if I were to find a 95?

Its not always about the miles. Its how well the car is maintained...who owns the car (if there old buy it, if there female and its not modded, buy it). becarefull what you buy once the car is modded. That usually means the car was manhandled or there is potential for something wrong. check for service checks, make sure all the checkups were done, check on the oil, do anything possible to make sure your in the clear. check the vin# and make sure the car wasn't stolen. Tegs are the most often stolen car out there. Just do some research, you will find one that you like eventually....patience is a virtue, just remember that. and goodluck.

if you find one, just post it on there. we are all good about telling you if the price is too high or what not.

if an old women owns it be all over that shiat

an old woman who owned a GSR, which means she'd have to be able to drive stick, comes once in a lifetime.

Doesn't matter what year you buy - just buy one! You won't regret it in the least :D

I've never looked back after buying mine, and while I might sell it, it's only because I'm paying my way through college. You can bet I'd buy another Teg after graduation!

If money isnt an issue - and you intend on modifying the car - I would go ahead and get a 98+. The front end is worth it IMO, and you can always go OBD-1 without problems. Im not a stunna-style individual, but the 98+ front end really appealed to me over the 94-97, and since I was going all motor anyway, I figured I would be getting an OBD2-1 conversion and chipped p28 anyway. Just me though. I love the 98+ front. Im a sucker for the 9-97 w/ a comptech lip though.

It's kinda funny that I stumbled across this thread. I was just about to make a similar post. I'm planning to buy a 3rd gen GSR towards the end of this year. Right now I just want to finish the swap in my hatch and get it boosted. I have to agree with everyone on the 94-95's ruling with OBD-1, but I love the look of the 98-01's. I probably won't buy a 96-97 unless it's a killer deal.. I mean like dirt cheap, cause it has OBD-2 and it doesn't have the look of the 98-01. I'm going to be looking for a dark green or maybe SSBP 98-01. I also plan on boosting it very shortly after buying it. I'll most likely go with a Drag 3 kit w/ Hondata. I'm very anxious to get another 3rd gen Integra. I used to own a 95 LS Special Edition an I loved it. To this day it is by far my favorite car. Since that car, I've had a 93 del Sol Si, a 00 Civic Si and a 93 GS-R. My 95 wasn't the fastest, but it handled great and looked the best too. Well, sorry I rambled on so long.. good luck finding a nice teg.
