Default o2 sensor problems

car starts and runs fine but is throwing a cel for no o2 sensor

For the o2 (primary) sensor that goes before the flange on the header, I only see 3 wires, I have an o2 sensor with 4wires I have not tried plugging it in yet is there a difference between obd1 and 2 o2 sensors because the 4 wire sensor I have I am pretty sure is from an obd2 vehicle.

When you remove a resistor box, all the wires that were going into it need to be connected together. You could just cut the plug off and solder them together.

Here is another way to do it if you don't want to solder. You just need to get the right plug and repin the wires. It's down in the middle of the page...

Thanks man I hope this will solve my problem, I figured something had to be done with the wires going to the old resistor box.

Ok so I connected all the wires from the plug running to the resistor box and the car started up perfect.

The car was turbo before and I honestly drove it like 20 miles while owning it while it was turbo. I recall the car would stay running for maybe 20 seconds after I would remove the key from the ignition. I am guessing this is like a home made turbo timer. Is there anything to look at specifically that would make the car stay running with the ignition off. The car is NA now so I have no need for it to stay running lol.

Also for the o2 (primary) sensor that goes before the flange on the header, I only see 3 wires, I have an o2 sensor with 4wires I have not tried plugging it in yet is there a difference between obd1 and 2 o2 sensors because the 4 wire sensor I have I am pretty sure is from an obd2 vehicle.

As far as I've ever seen all obd1 and newer o2 sensors should have 4 wires. I believe the only difference for obd2 is the rear one uses a different plug.

For the turbo timer thing I have no clue what they couldve done. Maybe ask that in the turbo section.

I figured out the turbo timer thing, it was just the alarm I guess the car does not shut off until you shut the door.

I will look and see if the plug fits tomorrow.

Thanks Sean I really appreciate it.
