Default noise!!

My car makes squeeky noises when i downshift , can it be the clutch cuz i feel like i need a new clutch, its kinda hard to put it into first gear and then when i try to punch it into 3rd gear it doesnt go in the first time but goes in the second try..thanks in advance

could be squeeky belts...have u changed ur belts lately or at all??? it could be loose alternator bolts.....
or brake pads
or clutch slippage.....stock clutch or racing?

its the clutch... mine was doing that exact same thing. it only gets worse and eventually becomes non drivable. get a new clutch and if that doesnt work on me but i think it is the clutch my.02

I had the same problem. Check the master cylinder for leaking fluids under the pedal or on the rod.

aight thanks guys , i have a stock clutch and the mileage on the motor is 107k so its probally the clutch. How do you guys think a shop would charge for a labor to put in a new clutch..

i was charged 150$ to put in a new clutch,pressure plate,bearings, and flywheel...

when u replace ur clutch...it is highly recomended that u either replace your flywheel or resurface ur stock flywheel to get maximum life outta ur new clutch...or else ur new clutch will wear un even.....u dont want that....but hey look on the bright side...its a reason to get a lightened flywheel...but not toooo light..lol i bought the act street light flywheel...i like it....

thanks for all your help also when i drove my car today it seemed liked it was lacking power , do you guys think its related to the clutch being old?

a new clutch no matter wut kind it is...will not add hp...but it will help put the hp that u do have to the ground quicker and harder...trust me its like a night and day difference....

could be the clutch slipping a bit.....the squeak is probably the throwout bearing, so a clutch kit is probably your best bet....and DO resurface/replace your flywheel at the same time, you won't regret it.....

Shops can resurface your flywheel right? Also i am looking into buying a clutchMasters Stage 1 clutch with about 2500 miles on it..any thoughts?
