Default Nitrous on a Automatic

I have a 98 integra with just over 20K on the motor and it is an automatic with CAI and exhaust. i just want to use enough so that i can tell im using it but not a huge difference. my main goal is to hang with 5speeds with basic mods(I,H,E) and stay 100% safe until i can do a 5sp. swap. what would the safest but yet best kit be right for me?? also i know that when using nitrous in a 5 speed you have to let off the button when you shift, so if i have a auto and say i am using the zex kit where it only kicks in at ful throttle, what happens when it shifts? do i have to let of the gas pedal or what?

The zex kit is pretty full proof and easy as hell to install. I'm running a 55 shot on my 2001 GSR and its very nice and linear.
also i know that when using nitrous in a 5 speed you have to let off the button when you shift, so if i have a auto and say i am using the zex kit where it only kicks in at ful throttle, what happens when it shifts? do i have to let of the gas pedal or what?
The reason that you have to let off the button when you shift is so that your not a) wasting nitrous for the breif second (**** gets expensive) and b) because you'll hit the redline faster than hell and would possibly damage the engine. With the zex kit its activate at wot so you really dont have to worry about it. When i shift i pull out on the gas anyways and that kill the nitrous. in an auto i would release the the throttle a little and then hammer it again once the car shifts.

most nitrous kits are used at WOT...soo if u let go of the gas then the nitrous diengages...i had a friend that ran a 50 shot in his LS auto...he got 15.3's...with autos its easier to spray right off the line

If you wanna run nitrous safetly on an auto tranny, it would be wise to invest in a MSD rpm window switch. This way u can set what rpm's u want the juice to flow. One good setting might be 3k rpm to right before your tranny shifts. This way, your car isn't on the juice when it shifts, thus saving your tranny from premature failure. After it shifts, it will automaticaly turn on the nitrous again.

How much is a 55 shot, a 100 shot? I'm talking Zex by the way. I was originally afraid of the bottle but it is sounding more appealing all the time. Could I go up to a 100 shot with stock internals?

anything over 75 shot and you need to do a wet direct port kit...which would NOT be zex...

and yes, you can run 100 on stock internals, but you need to tune it perfectly

when you buy a whole nitrous kit.... do you have to get the bottle filled or does it come filled. and how much is it usually to refil an average tank.

Your auto tranny's not gonna like it very much.
Does the most damage when it shifts while spraying.

Forget auto conversion.
Sell the car and buy a manual.
This way you save $$, time, and headache.

no, i want to keep my car. my parents bought the car brand new in 98 originally for my mom and me to learn to drive on and i would continue the payments when i got older. i wanted her to get a 5sp but she cant drive one and didnt want to learn so i was stuck with a auto. if i got another car, i would have to get a used one which i dont know the history of. i like the fact that i know every single thing my car has been though. and i have already put too much money into it. also it is fun to be a fast automatic becasue a lot of people bash on them. also a 5sp getting whopped by a auto doesnt sound so good for the 5sp driver!

Some cars, yes, but not on tegs. The maximum hp (roughly... lots of factors) that most auto tegs seem to hold is ~170whp. Even then, the tranny will start slip and will generally get messed up, especially if you drive it hard. If you're aiming for more than 160whp (anything more than a 65 shot or JRSC at 6psi), you definitely should consider an upgraded torque converter and tranny cooler at the very least.

does any1 feel like explaining this more in depth? where would u connect the msd rpm window switch? how much is it? do most nitrous users with auto trannies use this?

im thinking of using 50 shot. would this mean no upgraded torque converter and tranny cooler? what is a good torque converter? i only know of level ten and i heard it wasnt the best.
