Default New to Modding the Teg...

Hey guys... new here and havent really mucked around with japanese cars before. I just recently picked up a 1997 Integra LS for commuting in.

However, just like all my cars, I have to mod it...

Anyways, can anyone tell me if the parts in ebay are any good? I've been searching for some springs and I've been finding these $20 springs (what look like coils springs) in ebay. It seems too cheap! Are these parts even good?

I need some direction. What i'm intially looking for are spings and shock combo. I dont want to drop to low as it is my commuter, so maybe max of 1 inch drop.

Also, can you tell me if the ebay SSK is just as good as lets say the Skunk2 version? Again, coming from German cars, I have no idea about these integras and what parts are quality or what parts are bunk!

thanks again.

Don't buy cheap knockoff parts off of ebay. They, in general, are made with very poor quality, fitment, etc.

If you're looking for cheap parts, look in the marketplace section and buy some used parts.

Mugen is pretty much the most expensive company for hondas/acuras. They're very well known.

i'm liking the Omni coilspring. fairly cheap @ $199

From what i've gathered so far on spoilers, I like the ITR OEM ones. If Mugens are expensive, maybe i'll skip that. After all, it is a commuter first.

You own an E46 BMW. Please don't go cheap on the Integra.

Only if it's urethane. If it's ABS plastic, there's a reason why people say it's crap.

just buy the itr springs and shocks with the LCA's.

Someone's selling ITR springs and shocks for $100.

It'll lower the car about an inch and have a stiffer sportier feel.

how much money are you willing to spend? ebay= cheap asia products that will screw you over. 1 inch drop is very little you might not even see a significant difference. if its 1inch no use of coilovers.

This 5 post a day thing sucks...

Anyways, TurboGS-R, I'm not one to look for cheap parts. However, just so you all know, this is a commuter after all. My main focus is my M3.

I'm looking for something reasonably priced. I've been doing lots of searches and found a few that are within my budget for this Teg. I'll keep in mind with the 1inch drop. I think you guys are right, in that it may not even be worth it. I'll look into Teins, Omni, Tokico, and Intrax.

As for the folks that say slam it. I cant! I'll be commuting in this to and from work which is just under 100 miles a day. So, slamming it is not an option. I need something that wont kill my back.

I really appriciate the feedback guys!

yeah, my teg is lowered 2in and it rides fine and looks good. I bought it that way, and yes, its on cheapo ebay springs. To be honest i dont think they are that bad at all, the most annoying thing about them is that during winter they squeek. I would never buy another pair but if you really dont care and just want cheap parts just go for it.

i think you can fix that squeeking issue buy putting/spraying some chain wax (you can get it at a motorcycle place) on the coils that touch each other.

it's an old fix from back in my Jetta days.
