Default New here.

Just wanted to say hey to everyone since I'm new at this site. I have a 98 GSR with 87000 on it and I 've owned for 2years. I have lots of suspensions mods. No real engine mods, just intake and exhaust. I'm more of a track racer than drag racer. I live in germany, and yesterday I did 6 laps at Nurburgring. Which was really cool. I've been there 3 time in the last couple months. But anyway, jsut wanted to say hey.

suspensions mods

eibach prokit springs
progress race bushings
TSS tuning front and rear strut bars.
stock rear sway bar.

I'm thinkings of upgrading to a full coilover setup, but i still kind of want to maintain what some of the ride I have left in the car. its kind of bumpy on these german cobblestones.

i was also thinking about gettin pillowball mounts. but I'm not so sure what they exactly do. Kind of, but not really. Do you know?

you should really get a full coilover system if you're tracking that car with adjustable stiffness so you can just soften the ride when needed. Pillowball mounts as far as I know just look better and make it easier to install coilovers, someone care to elaborate?

If you're worried about ride quality, DO NOT get pillowball mounts. They basically replace the elastomeric suspension bushings with metal-to-metal contact. They are excellent for pinpoint suspension control (as it reduces the flexing inherent to rubber mounts) but are horrid for ride.

It's amazing how much road noise/roughness is filtered out by stock bushings.

Plus, many road race series prohibit their use.

Welcome aboard. Full coilovers would help you out I think. Post some pics. One final thing, search before you post.

Will search b4.. Thanks. I'm actually going to post pics next week. Im going back to nurburgring on good friday to go to this meet. ill puot pics my car and some my bros EVO's and S15's.. if possible, ill show you the only JDM eclipse ever made. the GSR 4, if hes there. well, pillowball will have to wait. Until im done with school, its my daily driver. So I dont want to have to have personal chiropractor b4 the age of 22. No, I'm not in the military, but my parents are. I'm staying with them for a year and a half to do some traveling and race at Nurburgring and Hockenheim. But thanks for the compliment about doing sus. mods firt rather than power. My idea is that I want to be able to control my car to the best of my abilities and learn its limits before i do engine upgrades. Everyone wants to go fast in a straight line, but no truly knows what skill it takes, and what an adrenaline rush it is go fast around a track. And barring any starightaways, my car can be damned fast on the ring with the engine I have. I've seen people in stock BMW 318's blow my doors off cause of there ability to handle there car. Drag racing only takes a certain amount of skill before it becomes repetitive. Drag is all about money and how much you have, but with track racing, (given it does cost money too) its easy understand ideal lines and apex's an all that, but it takes a track racing genius to master them. and the most cost effective way of going fast on a track is suspensions mods. power can work against you in a lot of cases, it can be harmful.. anyway, im done blabbering. hope I didnt offend anyone.
