what first?
hey i just got a 96 gsr, dont have much money left over but wanted to get started on some basic engine components to gain some power. what do u advise to start with? i was thinking just headers, exaust and cai, but wanted some opinions.
Start with some HPDE events and some autocrossing to really learn how to drive the car to it's fullets potential. Then go about modifying things to improve upon whatever areas you deem necessary.

Hey Kendall I see how you always tell a lot of people about driving schools and such do u know any good ones preferably in the southeast and some in his area too...sorry if i hijacked the thread but its still slightly on topic, thanks

this all depends on your budget.. but this would be my ideal set up for now..
first do..
Supension:
Tein SS coilovers ($875) VERY NICE upgrade from stock.
JDM ITR 23mm rear sway bar with Beaks mount kit (gets rid of ALOT of bodyroll)
Power:
do some free mods.. remove the resonator and make your own "icebox" style ducting.
Advance the ignition timing to 18 degress.
after that i would invest in a nice header (JDM 4-1, Toda, Spoon), high flow cat (SMS) and an exhaust (somthing 2.5")

i was going to say intake header and exhaust, but i forgot how much body roll a stock gsr had. ur gonna spend at least $1000 on intake/header/exhaust and you not gonna get much out of it except more noise and about 10whp. only helps you when ur getting on it hard.
a sweet suspension setup would be alot more benifical.
