ok so i have a 1994 Integra and the motor that is currently in there is a 94 GSR motor. everything internally is stock but i have intake header exhaust and clutch with a 7lb flywheel

anyways..

i was doing an oil change last night and i looked under my car and found out that my drivers side inner axle boot has been torn apart. all of the grease is everywhere and its covered a lot of my alternator.. well recently my car has been acting up and when i am racing my car bogs really bad at about 6k and feels like it wont go anywhere. i was wondering if you guys think this could be one of the problems or what.


Oh yeah i forgot to add. there are not check engine lights or anything

replace your axle

have you done a compression test?

 

no. i actually need to take my axle in and replace it and yeah i will do a compression test also.

any more things?

 

check your axle if it hasnt been like that for long it might not need to be replaced.. just need a new boot and to be repacked with grease.

as for the bogging own at about 6k that sounds like a limp mode to me... if ur engine is throwing a code find out what it is.

 

First, replace you axle.

If the car only seems to bog at around 6k, then the compression is probably fine, and a compression check would be pointless.

Does your car only act up a 6k? Does it bog anywhere else in the rpm range?

 

no it just acts up at 6K and then doesnt go any higher. i mean it goes higher but it feels like its stuck it has a really hard time going any further.
